Man. I think I have a fetish with nerdy guys. You know, like the underdogs. It's a complete turn on for me. I've been really realizing it for the past few months. You know, the guys that can stay at home and play video games and read comic books or watch Star Wars and whatever they do. I'm sure this is why I started dating Mat. He was the scrawney guy at a party playing Tekken and wearing an Astro Boy sweater when I met him. It was so cute. Well, I met him a few days before but he was at the university and he was coming from the gym. Not nearly as cool a playing Tekken, I had no interest at all until I met him later.

I went to see School for Scoundrels with Mat tonight and I had such a crush on Jon Heder's character. He was adorable. Yeah, he's the guy from Napolean Dynamite. Anyway, I really had to get that out. Not like Gimpy's sidekick, Mump off of Undergrad's. I would say more of the Nitz character. If I am going to analyze my life using a one season long cartoon from 2001. One of the better shows from TV at least.

Undergrads and Mission Hill used to be two of my favorite shows back in the day. they were beyond hilarious. I think Clone High was on around the same time as well. Also equally fabulous. 2001 was a good year for hilariosity. I don't think that Mission HIll really got the respect it deserved though. I always ask people if they have seen it, but not many people remember it. It had the penis guy, I don't think I've laughed as hard ever when I saw the penis guy for the first time. I should get the season on DVD. Money well wasted at least. I would if I ddn't just buy an entire new wardrobe to make myself happy. And I'm trying to save up to go to school in England in the Spring to finish my degree. That was the most pompous thing I have ever said/written.

I realised that I was really lame by going to sleep so early. Well, I was told this yesterday when I was talking to someone on MSN and said that I was going to bed and it was only 12:30. Well it's 12:42 right now and everyone but me is in bed right now. Except for Amanda, she's gone out with Kelly. But I'm staying up. Even though said person was on msn just like me on a friday night. At least I'm up. Going for the long run. Maybe I can get some reading done for school. The puppy is up kind of. Harley and I re going to bond watching Red Green now.

Capatain's Log,
So I started volunteering at The Rooms (museum and centre for Archaeology and Ethnology, I think is how it was described) today. It's pretty sweet, I was in not one, but two vaults today and through unnecessarily tall 10 foot doors (maybe they actually have a purpose like really big artifacts, but whatever). I had a good time, back to remebering how to cataloge artifacts, which actually took some pratice to remember. Eventually I remebered that if I have to ask "What is this?' no matter what it looks like or what colour it is, it's chert. Not that you care. We finished cataloguing the artifacts that were found during the last couple days of feild school, next time we get to move on to working on different stuff. I'm excited to work with stuff that I'm not familiar with. Anyway, that is all I have to say about that. I'm going to eat a drumstick now.

Today on the bus I saw a boy in a bus shelter stuck between the glass and the bench. Just his head was sticking up above the bench. The bus driver had to call someone to remove the bench. It was hilarious.

So I'm in the Ferry Terimal now. They have free wireless internet which is a big fun time party. MAnda and Scott just left, so what better time to update my lj?
Feild School starts tommorow! Hooray! I'm really excited. There are two classes in St John's, then it is off to Baie Verte on Friday. It also gives me time to look at some houses. I have an appointment tommorow evening, but the house sounds kind of small. We'll see I guess. THere is a totally awesome cool house that is big (2000 square feet) and across the road from aquarena that looks really great. I'm going to try to set up an appointment for that one, but there are people occupying it right now so I don't know if I will be able to get in within the short amount of time I'm in St John's. But since it's practically on campus I'll sneak around it and check it out. Maybe I'll run their house to check the water pressure. Hahaha. Or not.
I wonder what movies will be playing while I'm there. Last year it was Ice Princess and ome other crappy ones (Sorry Kelly Harvey, Ice Princess just doesn't cut it). Maybe they'll do better this year. They year before 13 Going on 30 was playig, which was pretty awesome. I don't think Susan and Franco exactly agreed , though.
I hope I'll be able to nap on the boat. I had 3 hours sleep before I came and 2 hours the night before. I'm not running on much gas here.
I just heard someone say they are going to start moving passengers on to the boat. I better go!

So I have not been very keen on updating as of late. Been much to tired/busy with working and whatnot. But I realised something today and I had to update about it. It's my dog, Clio. I was trying to take her picture today and I was hit with a realization: My dog is totally emo. Fashion and music aside (who says I can't completely change definitions to completely suit my own musings), Clio knows how to rock the emo scene. Anyway, so we were taking pictures and I think that I should make her a myspace. She knows how to do the angles.

I haven't actually updated in a very very long time. But Deanna still has friends over and it's past 4 am, so now is a better time than any. They are playing DDR and one of her guy friends is crying really fucking loudly and obnoxiously for the past half hour. You know, I can understand if I guy needs to cry every once in a while but this has been a consistence moan/talk for the past 30 minutes and it's getting really old. Suck it up pussy. He sucks sooo much. And he's drunk. Complaining that your life sucks when you're drunk is stupid. If your life sucks so much why do you want to even talk about it at all? You are a pathetic human being. I am in the basement corner of my house and you are upstairs in the living room. You are penetrating 2 closed doors and a floor. There are people sleeping here. Maybe if you weren't such a self absorbed inconsiderate pussy bag of ass juice you wouldn't be wailing your tale of woes in someone elses house and your life would suck a little less.

Now the phone is ringing! At 4:15! Now the crying pussy is angry. He's so tough now! You should hear him. What a night. He's really resolved his life issues. Within 10 seconds he went from little girl to gangsta. The magical phone call that saved his life. He should write a book about the exciting adventures of his life. A tale of heartache, mishaps, drug and alcohol abuse in the woods before the school dance, getting to 1 and 1/2 base (under the shirt, over the bra). He's so valiant. You tell that late night caller off as loud as possible.

My favorite part of this, through all of the drama that is going on right now, there is one kid up there who has continued to DDR the entire time. I love that kid so much right now. This guy is pouring his heart out and threatening to kill people and this kid just wants to dance. Way to go dancing kid, you rock.

Oh he's crying again! You suck so much guy. Most dramatic group of people EVER (except for dancing kid).

On a lighter note I totally won a used VHS copy of Inspector Gadget 2 as a door prize tonight at a fundraiser sort of dance thing at the French Club tonight. Best prize ever. Can't wait to watch it.

Dear Livejournal,

So have you ever left an exam/test/quiz and figured out a question as you were leaving? Well I wrote one of my archaeology exams yesterday and there was a question that I wrote down a wrong nswer for, I know it was wrong at the time because he was looking for an English colony and I wrote down a Spanish one. I thought that maybe he had the date wrong though, and I didn't wnt to ask because I would be moron if I was wrong, nd I most likely was, becuse I had totl of 2&1/2 hours sleep the night before (morning before). My exam looked a little like this: "~~St Augu~~ ~~Fort Car~~ ~~St Augu~~ ~~St Augus~~ St Augustine" Except all written (scratched) around one little blank. But anyway so I'm going to bed last night and as I was almost fllling asleep I was like "Roanoke!" and then I was pissed becuase I look like an idot because that's the first english settlement in the New World and could talk about it for ages because there is a really interesting story surrounding it that I was talking to people in the class about like 5 minutes before the exam. And St Augustine is a Spanish settlement, what a moron I am. (And St Augustine was 1565, Roanoke 1585 ST Augustine was the first permaent European Settlement in the New World, Roanoke was first English settlement, not permanent) See what I can remember on a good nights sleep? Oh well, at least I lerned something the course. I suppose that's wht counts. 1 exm left! Hindu Gods and Goddesses, I'm pretty much finished now, I don't have to spend hours studying it or anything, but I'm going to the library with Kelly and Amanda tonight anywy just because I probably should. But I feel really good, having your easiest exam last is pretty minters.

I should get some boxes today and start packing away things. I'll get the laundry done maybe. I don't know, we have so little to pack that we kind of need it all to live. Moving Moving Moving. I don't want to take down the pictures either. Maybe we could just leave it all for Sunday between the three of us. It's not a very big apartment, I bet we could get it all finished relatively quickly. As long as we get boxes.

Oh! And I get my steel toed shoes yesterday. They are totally the coolest steel toed shoes ever. So I can cross them off my list of things to get for feild school/work. They are boots, they look more like a sneaker. Either way they are totally hot, something you have to see to understand.

i have to get my student loan filled out at the registrar today.. rawr. I wish it wasn't still raining. I want the sun to come out. I hope Nova Scotia is sunny on Monday for the drive home. I'm going to go and get dressed, make a grilled cheese sandwhich, dry my hair (in that order). Later gaters!

I also got my term paper for Arctic Prehistory back today after my exam and I did as well as I had hoped I would (A! hooray!). I must say, I'm a genious when it comes to biological adaptations to the cold of modern humans. It just comes naturally to me. I could post the whole thing here for you guys because I know you are dying to read all 3163 words of it, but I understand many of you have exams and work and child rearing to do, so I will hold myself back.
I have another exam tommorow. A quiz rather, on the last very short section of the course, so I'm not too worried. I thought that I had a different, harder, exam tommorow but as it turns out that one is not until the 20th, so hooray for having more studying time.

So.. other than that I am becoming increasingly excited about feild school. The course is going to be on the excavation of a Dorset Paleoeskimo site known as Cow Cove 3 (EaBa-19) and a limited excavation of a multi-component (historic and prehistoric) French Island Tickle (EaBa - 19) site (subject to funding). And we'll also be participating in the location and testing for new sites. Along with excavating, there is also a lab component to including artifact preperation, processing, identification, conservation, cataloguing and database work. Excting?
The dig kit is supplied by the feild school, but I kind of want to just get my own anyway. But I don't want to come off as too much of a keener because the other students might think I was weird. Which generally insn't a problem until you are living, eating, sleeping and working with these people for a month straight. Also, I'm being graded in how well I get along with the other students. Not that I think it is going to be a problem. I just don't want to make a bad first impression. I already have some pretty nice root cutters though. Maybe I'll just buy it when I'm done. I don't know what a small plumb bob is anyway. Some archaeology major I am.
Some of the stuff on this list I just cannot figure out why it is needed though. Like ear plugs and steel toed boots. What am I going to do that requires these things? I'm pretty sure the sites are pretty isolated.
But I digress here is a checklist of things I need to buy before June 26th (because I'm just excited ok?)

2. Steel toed boots (have to go to outlet before I leave here anyway so I can start working with dad's company ASAP)

But if I make at least an 86% on this exam/quiz I'll have an A. Huzzah! No point in not thoroughly going over the notes tonight if I can bring it up a letter grade easily (hovering at 78% at the moment). Got my term paper back for that course the other day too. Turns out I didn't do it right. Boo.. But I still got a 78% on it, which is not bad. Could have been higher, but I'm not about to jump up and offer to do it again. That would be crazy! But Pancakes! Calling Home!!

In memory of Andrew Rutherford

Woo, have I ever had a week. Well, first of all had two term papers and an essay due. That sounds scarey enough I know, especially when I wasted the whole weekend doing nothing. But let me tell you a story about how Andrew Rutherford rescued me from a 5 year rut. You see, I haven't won a Tim Horton's roll up the rim since I was 15. I've been buying them like crazy this year, I've had over 20 and I don't normally make trips to Tim Hortons rather than special occasions. Well, Andrew had been buying coffees as well, but he just continued to win on them. He won a bajillion times so he graciously sent two of his winning coffees to me. I thought it was a lovely gesture even when I was angry at him for winning in the first place.

The coffees arrived in the mail about two days ago (I think the landlord was mad at us or something, she has to get our mail from the post office and I think she left it there for like a week, she's supposed to check everyday). The post it note inside said to share them, so I take Mat out to Tim's and we each get a medium hot chocolate in a large cup with whipped cream. When the time comes to roll up the rim, Matthew wins for the 3rd time out of about 5 cups he's had and I am left once again with nothing. By this time Andrew's lucky coffees have just not set in.

That night at about 9pm Amanda and I decide to go to Sobeys to get some groceries. This is when I miracle happened. So I'm walking outside the apartment and I get about 2 buildings down the road to the Ballistic building which caught fire last term and construction workers are now at everyday fixing crap up. So I am walking by and on the ledge of Ballistic I see a Tim Horton's cup in pristine condition. Now, usually when you see a tim's cup it's all wrinkled and the cap is off from people checking their winnings. Not this poor soul he left is 1/4 full cup of tea or coffee (I didn't taste it to find out that's just too weird) and I say hey! I wonder if I'll winon this one! So I pick it up (I know this is really gross, but I'm desperate to win) and I dump out the contents and roll up the win. It was a miracle right there on Water Street! A coffee! And it was mine! I only had to spill some strangers drink all over my hands to get it! It was actually one of the happiest moments of my life.

Then today, after swimming I bought a coffee at Tim's in the Aquarena and guess what? I won again!! Two winners! Me! It's amazing. Thanks Andrew, you saved my life.. the winning part of my life.

I also managed to get my papers done with no problems at all even though I didn't really start anything until yesterday. I even went to Kung Fu last night and swimming this evening with some procrastination in the middle and managed to write, profread, bibliographise and finalize my paper with ample time for sleeping and not worrying. It's weird. One of them was even over 12 pages long. I pased in my Arctic prehistory term paper a few days ago as well. Didn't even have to worry about it. I have offically written all of my end of term papers without one night of staying up way too late to get something finished. I didn't even have to rush. It's a good feeling. I'm proud of myself. I'm really proud of myself this whole year actually. It's my best one by far, I loved my classes and my profs. Just wait until exams hit and I my retract that comment.

Anyway, thanks Andrew!! Mat and I enjoyed the coffees and you broke my losing streak. Job well done.

Aaack... I am sick today. It really sucks. My head is really sore and more throat is swollen and my skin hurts and I'm sweating which is making me chilly. Bleh.. It gets better and worse and I guess. But on the upside Term paper #2 is finished and ready to be printed off and passed in tommorow. Quite good if you ask me. I have my last one due in a week..ooorg. Will have to work fast on it starting tommorow. I've been updating my music library lately, it's kind of crappy. I realised that like 90% of it was Mat's music which I'm not really in to because it includes things like the discography of ACDC so I couldn't put shuffle on and listen to it happily. So I deleted all Mat's garbage (not the band) becuase he has it on his ipod and doesn't listen to things on my laptop. I'm getting happier about it. I just downloaded Barenaked ladies and I didn't realise how much I love 'em. Trying to get more Robbie Williams (not Take That though, boo to them), Jack Johnson and John Mayer because I heart them. And some other things.
26 Days until home time! I'm not homesick or anything, but it will be nice to be home. In a big house with couches to watch tv/interweb on and a lazyboy to read in. And a shitty bed. Man my bed suxx0rs. Oh well, whatever. It's home nonetheless. But most importantly....POOKIE!! I can't wait to see my kitty. Maggie and Clio too, but Pookie Pookie Pookie. She's so CUTE! I miss her!

She looks so angry. Probably because I left her AGAIN. I'm so mean! She's going to come live with me next year though. YAY!
